Project Assistant

We are a small, friendly Frome-based charity that creates social opportunities for people with additional needs, young carers, and their families.

Our aim is simple: to help people feel included, confident, and able to enjoy life in their community.

This is a rare and genuinely rewarding opportunity to join us as we grow. You’ll be part of a close-knit team where your time and energy really do make a difference. There may be scope for these hours to increase in the near future but please don’t let this put you off getting in touch.

You’ll help support our relaxed, fun social sessions for people with additional needs aged 17 upwards:

Pod Plus  Mondays, 6–9pm (excluding bank holidays)
POP Disco 2nd Tuesday of each month (replacing Pod Plus that week)

Your role will involve helping to create a safe, welcoming space where people can socialise, take part in activities and feel comfortable being themselves.  You don’t need previous experience as full support and guidance will be provided.

What matters most to us is that you are:

– kind, patient, and caring

– enthusiastic and reliable

– comfortable working as part of a small team

If you’re looking for work that feels meaningful, fits around other commitments and lets you be part of something positive in the community, we’d love to hear from you.

Please telephone 07709 231536 or email info@thepodcharity.org.uk requesting an application pack.  Deadline for applications 23rd January 2026

There will be an opportunity to visit a project with interviews taking place w/c 9th February.

If you would you like to help us to make a difference behind the scenes as a volunteer or a future role in the charity, please go to the Get Involved tabs for more information.
