Scrapstore

It’s Back!!!

Pod Scrapstore is returning to the Cheese & Grain on Monday 20th November, from 1.30 – 4.30 pm with another wonderful selection of exciting materials and objects.

Let your creativity go wild and think all things sparkly and Christmassy ! I know, it may feel too soon to mention it, but we don’t want you to miss an opportunity to bag those inspirational materials for cheap homemade gifts, cards, and decorations.

Popular with nurseries, schools, childminders, community groups, and creative people from far and wide. Please spread the word and support our wonderful volunteers to make this a fab community event.

Please remember that many of our volunteers have additional needs, some hidden. We ask everyone to be patient, kind, and encouraging whilst hunting for bargains.

We hope to see lots of return customers as well as new faces.

Entry is £1 with children under 12 or education groups free.

If you are from a school or home education group and would like to bring a group of children, please email becky@thepodcharity.org.uk to let us know how many children are coming along.

Scrapstore Collection Service is open for business.

You can find us at Unit 2, Justice Lane, Frome. Opposite the entrance to The Black Swan gift shop.

Opening times are limited currently – Tuesday afternoons 2-4 pm.

However, we hope to extend these hours soon.

If you are from a care or education setting, home school provider, or community group, and cannot come at this time,

Or if you are an individual or organisation with items to donate;

Please contact Kate at scrapstore@thepodcharity.org.uk to arrange a collection/donation appointment.

Community Links and encouraging creativity.

We also had a great time running a creative space using recycled materials at the Children’s Festival on Sunday 23rd July. Our fab Pod Plus and community volunteers helped children and adults get creative with our wonderful scrap. We also provided free materials for families to take home for summer craft activities.

You never know we may achieve our dream of a permanent Scrapstore by next year, providing training, work experience and jobs for over 18’s with additional needs and loads of wonderful skills and enthusiasm. Thanks to this amazing team of volunteers we are able to steadily grow the project and the community is benefiting.

Please share our details with anyone you feel may be interested or companies who may have useful waste items or materials to donate.

If you are part of a community group, charity, education, or care provider/group and wish to access art, craft, and play materials you can now access our appointment-only service.
