Pod charity is Frome Times “Group of the Year”

by | Jan 24, 2024

We are so very proud to have been chosen as Frome Times Group of The Year by our community. A massive well done to Lenka and everyone who has been nominated and not forgetting Frodo of course! What a fantastic community spirit Frome has !!

Pod has been growing steadily since its beginnings in 2013, to meet the needs of people with additional needs, young carers and their families by providing safe, supported, inspiring and meaningful projects and activities.

Everything we do is member-led and in response to a request to enhance people’s life experiences and help them to feel a sense of belonging in our community.

The Pod is very grateful for all of the community support for these 8 projects which now provide activity across all ages from 8 through to 80 plus! From weekly social clubs and bingo, to monthly discos and Pop Up Scrapstore’s. We couldn’t do this without the support and dedication of our wonderful staff team and regular volunteers.

The Pod is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and has plans afoot for celebrations throughout the year.

Look out on our social media and website for information on these or to find out more about our work, volunteering opportunities or how you could play a part in helping The Pod to grow and our community to thrive.

The charity has big dreams of permanent premises which can encompass not only Scrapstore, but many of our other projects. This will give the charity not only a stronger identity, but a base to operate from, and the ability to increase our offer to the individuals, town, and communities we serve. We are very excited by this prospect as we are getting closer to this dream. Once again we wish to thank everyone who has supported The Pod over the past 10 years to get us to this place, here’s to the next 10 years !
