Pod is sending out a huge “Thank You”to Aspire Competitions for donations amounting to £1000 so far. This has really helped to keep projects going over the past months and to widen the community support for Pod.
Because of this donation we have been able to run Workshop, our creative Saturday project for over 18’s.
This project has been really popular and has given members a chance to catch up with friends at the weekends and learn lots of new art and crafting skills too.
So who and what are Aspire Competitions ? And why donate to Pod?
“Aspire Competitions is a prize competitions company that has been established for two years and have to date, given away thousands of prizes worth millions of pounds. Every Wednesday we do a live draw, presented by Owen and Jimmy our top prizes being either, cash or our speciality, Campervans. With each camper that has sold out on ticket sales we donate £500 to a charity that either we have suggested or to the winners’ choice. In this case we have given two donations, one in November 2021 and the other in September 2021, both suggested by Aspire competitions themselves. We have donated a total of over £60,000 to various different charities, most of it from Campervan ticket sales. We like to support local charities and the ones who are not necessarily as well known.”
We look forward to more amazing support from this company which is sharing out its profit from competitions to many local charities. Community support is vital for small local charities to keep gong and keep growing.
Pod has exciting things ahead with new projects starting, such as our monthly open access “Pod Pop Disco” beginning on 17th May and our pop-up Scrapstore event on 10th May.
We also have big dreams about a permanent Scrapstore by next year. Keep watching this space!!
